10/20/00  Aimee at the Olympics



From October 20 to 28, Cincinnati Marlins Masters swimmer Aimee Bruder competed in her third Paralympic Games.   The available results are posted below.

At the 1996 Paralympic games in Atlanta, Aimee won three bronze medals in the women's S4 category (the 100m and 200m Free and the 4x50m Free Relay).   At the 1998 IPC World Swimming Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand, Aimee won six medals in the women's S4 category (gold in the 100m Free; silver in the 150m IM, 50m Free, and 200m Free; bronze in the 50m Back; and gold in the 4x50m Free Relay (a world record)).   At the 1999 USA Swimming Disability championships in Minneapolis, Aimee won the 50m, 100m and 200m Free, and 50m Back (setting American records in all four), and was second in the 50m Breast and 150m IM.   This year in Indianapolis, she won the 200m Free, 50m Breast, and 150m IM and placed second in the 50m Free, 50m Back, and 100m Free.
