9/7-15/08 Remember former Marlins Masters swimmer Aimee Bruder?   In the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, Aimee placed 3rd in the 100m free, 4th in the 150m IM, and 5th in the 50m free.   Aimee also competed in the 200m free but didn't make the finals.   Details are here.

7/20/08 At the Anderson Barracudas Masters Splash and Dash LCM, Chad competed in five events and did a 3:15.77 in the 200 breaststroke, shaving 4.6 sec from his previous best.

7/19/08 Coach Jerri completed the inaugural United States Masters Swimming 25K National Championship in Noblesville, IN.   She finished second in her age group, but after the swim, her right shoulder informed her that it would refuse to ever swim more than 10K again.   Jerri had hoped to go faster, but her paces in the first and second 3.1 mile laps (1:23 and 1:30) are faster than some of us slackers ever go in a sprint anymore. So congratulations!

6/29/08 At a meet today, Chad finished 1st in the 200 breaststroke (3:20.36), 2nd in the 100 freestyle (1:14.65), and 1st in the 100 breaststroke (1:28.66).   He dropped 5 seconds in his 100 breast and 8 seconds in his 200 free.

Stephanie competed in her triathlon, but they cancelled the swim because of bacteria in the water.   She reports that she had the coolest fans ever and did finish the race.
