Jerri with her grandson
|
Jerri comes to us from Northern Kentucky, where she successfully coached for
several years with the Clippers.
She grew up in Edgewood, KY and swam for Brookwood Swim Club as well as Scott
High School.
Jerri began coaching in 1994, the same time she re-entered the sport as a
Masters swimmer, in the state of Washington.
She enjoyed a very successful career both in the pool and on the deck.
Her coaching began with the Fort Lewis Dolphins and later the Washington
Aquatic Killer Orcas.
Next came three years in Pennsylvania and then a move back to Washington,
where she coached with the Valley Aquatic Swim Team out of Puyallup.
From 1998-2000, Jerri was the assistant high school coach in Lebanon, PA at
Cedar Crest High School, where she also coached the Falcon Swim Club.
She also worked at the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA teaching swim lessons and water aerobics.
As a masters swimmer, Jerri was nationally ranked in the 100 and 200
breaststroke, winning the 200 at Nationals in 1998.
In 1999 she placed 3rd in her age group, following that up with a 4th place
finish in 2000.
After a few years away from competition, she returned in 2007 to win her age
group again.
She has also swum the 4.4-mile Great Chesapeake Bay multiple times for the March
of Dimes, winning her age group in 2007.
Jerri and her husband Joe moved back to Northern Kentucky to live after Joe
retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service.
